Welcoming pyrolysis experts to Birmingham

EBRI’s Kerri Lyon looks ahead to Pyro2014, the international pyrolysis conference she is helping to organise here in Birmingham next month.

EBRI is organising Pyro2014, a major international pyrolysis conference being held in Birmingham (UK) from 19th – 23rd May 2014.

Pyro2014 is a must for anyone involved with analytical and applied pyrolysis. With over 249 abstracts submitted and over 200 of the world’s leading researchers and academics in the field of pyrolysis attending, this year’s event looks set to be the best yet. The programme of keynote lectures will be given by eminent researchers and speakers from companies investing in the technologies to create value from products from pyrolysis. There will also be many opportunities to meet speakers and to network with pyrolysis experts from Europe and beyond.

The evening events to accompany the conference are shaping up to be great nights. Monday will see a drinks reception hosted at Aston University, with the opportunity for guests to see what we do here at EBRI and tour our facilities. There’s a Gala Dinner on Thursday evening to provide another opportunity to get together in a less formal setting. During the week delegates will be able to make vital connections with people who share their bioenergy interests and develop ideas for the bioenergy collaborations for the future.

If a week is too much time to spare, an ‘Innovations in Bioenergy’ workshop will take place on Wednesday 21st May to complement the conference. Participants will be able to learn about bioenergy technologies, innovation and funding opportunities as well as hearing about bioenergy developments throughout the UK, Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands. The workshop is free to attend. Details to be announced soon – email [email protected] to register your interest.

Whether you are a company, organisation or a researcher, do join us in Birmingham in May.
