Media and visitor numbers ramping up at EBRI

Phew! It’s been an exceptionally busy month for the European Bioenergy Research Institute, with lots of distinguished visitors coming to our facilities on the Aston University campus to hear about our work, research and support we are able to offer to businesses and organisations.

February got off to a great start when we hosted a media visit for Material Recycling World. Journalist Tom Kenning met with key staff within EBRI and had a tour of EBRI’s demonstration Pyroformer™/Gasifier Power Plant. A feature has already appeared on the MRW website (read article) and a full feature will be appearing very soon too! Media interest continued as freelance energy and environment journalist Sian Crampsie visited EBRI last week and we have more media visits planned for the months ahead. EBRI is always happy to share news of our work and to provide expert comment, so if you’re a journalist and would like to find out more about our work or make a journey to see our facilities and power plant, please get in touch!

We’ve hosted Lord Deben, Chairman of the Committee on Climate Change, who was at Aston University to give a public talk on ‘Replacing the Fossil Fuels’. He too was given a tour of the EBRI Power Plant and was very interested to hear about the way in which EBRI is working with businesses and the support available for free.

Today we are just back in the office after finishing a tour of facilities for Phil Bennion, MEP for the West Midlands, who was particularly keen to hear of the work EBRI has been doing with rural businesses and to see our bioenergy technologies in operation.

And in the middle of all this, we exhibited at the Energy Now Expo at Telford International Centre. Pleased to say that we had lots of interest on our stand and met some fascinating people – we have great companies to follow up discussions with.

March looks set to be even busier so watch this space for details of our exciting and high profile visitors next month!
